FAQ

When we will receive our images?

Each session will have an estimated turnaround time frame included in the contract.

How many pictures will we receive?

There is no set number of images you will receive in a session to allow for the session to unfold naturally vs. meeting quotas, but an average number of images to expect will be between 5 and 10 images per 30 minutes of session time.

Where can I print my images?

You can use any printing service of your choice as you will be provided with a print release as part of your package price. There is a wide array of photo printing services online, including Mpix, Shutterfly, Nations Photo Lab, White House Custom Color, ProDPI, and more.

When is payment due?

Your non-refundable retainer is due at the time of booking to reserve your time and date on my calendar insuring that no other client can book me during that timeframe, and the final payment is due prior to your session.

Am I allowed to share my images online?

Absolutely, I understand the main way people share images is online, I do 100% believe you should get your images printed and displayed in your home as well, but online sharing is allowed. Per contract terms however you are not allowed to alter or apply filters to the images.

How do I book you?

Please fill out my contact form on the "contact" tab to get started! I require a signed contract and retainer to reserve your date. I can answer any questions via email as well.

How far do you travel?

I serve a 60 mile radius of my hometown Hebron ND, including the cities of Dickinson and Bismarck/Mandan, any booking requests outside of that distance can be discussed and an additional flat fee will apply.

What if there are location/permit expenses?

If you choose a location that requires permits or entrance fees you are responsible to pay those fees in addition to your session fees.

How should we dress for our family session?

The list of dont's is actually pretty small! Don't wear large logos, neon colors or baggy clothes. The do list can be pretty long, so I will send you a session prep guide after booking as a reference.

What if I wear glasses? Transition glasses?

If your session is outdoors, transition glasses would not be suitable unless you want the sunglasses look, you would want to use an alternate pair of glasses, prescription or not, or not wear glasses. If you wear regular glasses I will do my best to pose you in such a manner to reduce the glasses glare. In candid images however there may be glasses glare that can not be avoided. If the images do have glare I will do some editing to minimize it, but complete removal of the glare is not guaranteed.

We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

As someone who feels the same way, another reason I choose to be behind the camera, I understand how you are feeling, most of us are not models, my goal is to make you feel comfortable and at ease, I will provide direction and I may have you do things that feel silly to capture natural images and or real laughter. I may tell a goofy joke, have you play a game with your kids or other various things that capture you naturally. Things to keep in mind is that some posing techniques will create a beautiful image but will feel awkward therefore trusting the process is important, the ultimate goal is to capture images that just feel like you, so if you are not comfortable with a particular pose we can move on to a new one. We will find our rhythm together.

How do we prep children for our session?

The week before your session, start bringing me up in conversation. You can refer to me as Christine or even just the photographer lady. Tell your kids about how we are going to have fun, be silly, laugh, and take pictures. I am totally not above bribery. A fun ice cream date after our session is always a big hit. Just make sure you let the kids know we're going to have fun! If they worry about behaving perfectly then it will show in the images.

What if my children don't look at the camera or my husband won't smile?

While I will give my best effort to ensure these things happen I can not guarantee that everyone will smile, or that your children will make eye contact with the camera as children tend to be shy or have their eyes everywhere. When it comes to children sometimes the best images captured are those wild little faces they make and the silly giggles even when not looking at the camera.

How long do you keep my images?

I will keep images for at least 90 days after gallery delivery. You should download your gallery after it's delivered and back up your images as well. After the 90 day timeframe if you need your images again for some reason please feel free to reach out to me however there is no guarantee I will still have the files.

Why are you available for limited dates and times only?

I am a part time photographer with a full time job, therefore I limit my availability to evenings and weekends while still allowing time for my family.
